Obituary for Patience "Peppy" Battisti Obituary for Patience "Peppy" Battisti: Patience Chrisler Battisti (March 25, 2024) It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patience "Peppy" Chrisler Battisti, a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who left this world far, far too early on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the age of 62. Peppy was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished wife of Anthony "Tony" Battisti for 28 Incredible years, a devoted mother to her three children Ryan, Laura, and Lucas, a loving sister to her six siblings, and an amazing cousin, aunt, and niece to her extended family who all held a special place in her heart. Peppy's long career as an interpreter of American Sign Language, especially in the educational setting, exemplified her outgoing spirit, drive for connection, belief in inclusion, commitment to excellence, understanding of nuance, and desire to always help. An artist at heart, Peppy had a profound appreciation for beauty and creation, which she expressed through her artwork, her vibrant garden, and the warmth of her home. Her passion for growing things was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she believed in the growth and blossoming of every person, animal, and leaf under her great canopy. Her creative soul found joy in genealogy and family history, weaving together the stories of her ancestors with care and attention, and led her on countless journey to unravel mysteries of the past and pay respect to those that came before. Peppy was more than a mother; she was a best fiend, a confidante, the glue that held her family together, and the love she poured on her family knew no bounds. She was the architect of family gatherings, the keeper of traditions, and the person who always had a comforting word and a listening ear. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the beauty she created, and the love she shared. Peppy was a beacon of light, a source of strength, and a pillar of love. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Peppy's remarkable life at one of two events: 1) Celebration of Life at Fairfax Circle Church, 3110 Chichester Ln, Fairfax, VA 22031, on Saturday, April 6th from 1:00 PM to 4 PM. 2) Funeral Mass at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, 4431 Lindell Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63108, on Friday, April 19 at 10 AM. Following Mass, burial at Calvary Cemetery, 5239 W. Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115 After Calvary, hugs, tears, laughter, and repast at the home of Oliver Chrisler and Lynda Brady, 302 S. Gore Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. As we bid farewell to this beloved and wonderful woman, we take solace in the memories we shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she sowed into our lives. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved, beneath the familiar grounds of Calvary Cemetery, where she once walked wept, and loved those who passed before. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC), a cause close to her heart. NVRC staff were very saddened to hear about Patience's passing.

Patience has a long history with NVRC, and the deaf and hard of hearing community in Northern Virginia. She was a contractor with NVRC for several years, leading a parent group for deaf and hard of hearing children, and her leadership made a great impact on these families. Patience was also an extremely talented interpreter in the community, and a strong advocate for communication access for all.

Her husband, Tony, served for a time as an NVRC board member.
