Nathaniel Muncie

Born and raised in the foothills of the Kentuckian Appalachian Mountains, Nathaniel graduated from Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Psychology and went on to get his Master's degree in Linguistics at Gallaudet University. He then relocated to Reykjavik, Iceland where he spent several years engaged with the Icelandic deaf and hard-of-hearing community, especially with Icelandic Sign Language revitalization and documentation efforts and supporting the community by serving on the board of the Deaf Association of Iceland. He spent several subsequent years contributing to improvements in the intersection of technology and accessibility for global technology enterprises. Since then, he has focused his efforts on supporting the employment of people with disabilities through the paradigm of public policy in the nonprofit sector and collaborates with disability advocacy organizations, federal agencies, and Congress to drive meaningful change. In his spare time, you can find him reading books or knitting Icelandic lopapeysur in cozy quiet corners.
