Katelyn Wyatt
A true northern Virginian native, Katelyn has lived here her entire life and couldn’t imagine living elsewhere. Not only is her immediate family here, but this is where her roots are and where it all began. She knew at an early age that she wanted to have a deep immersion in the Deaf community, thanks to growing up with a Deaf grandfather. This passion only increased during her undergrad at Gallaudet. Katelyn spent almost half her career in the education system before she transitioned to a different role. It was there that she realized the importance of early intervention and exposing deaf and hard of hearing children to language as soon as possible. And what an honor and privilege that was – to be the conduit for their access to language, culture, and identity and to give linguistic freedom through ASL and Cued Speech.
When she actually has some downtime, she thoroughly enjoys diving into her last read, binge watching a show on Netflix, and spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends.
