Jeremy Smith graduated from Gallaudet University in 2016 with a BA in Communications Studies.  In 2020 he graduated from Partners in Policy, an advocacy and leadership skills development program.  He has been a member of the Board of Directors at NVRC since 2018.

In 2023 Jeremy won The Fairfax County, VA Martha Glennan Disability Inclusion & Equality Award.  He was also recently named the Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) "2024 Outstanding Young Alumnus" for his work as an advocate and social media influencer for the DeafPlus Community.
