
David Jara
Dr. David Jara is a bilingual audiologist, located in Arlington. He is licensed by the Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology in Virginia, and holds the certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He earned a Doctorate in Clinical Audiology from the University of Maryland. During his time at the University of Maryland, he worked as a research assistant at the Hearing Research Laboratory in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences with a focus on the effects of aging and hearing loss on auditory processes. His clinical rotations included service at otolaryngology clinics, and the Washington Hospital Center. He completed his clinical Fellowship at Advanced Hearing Health Care, specializing in comprehensive audiologic evaluation and selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids.
Dr. Jara lives in Alexandria, Virginia. He is originally from Lima, Peru. He started his involvement with NRVC through volunteering at the annual Celebrate Communication fair and finds the NVRC’s mission to assist and advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing community compatible with his passion for human communication.
