DEAF HATHA YOGA CLASS – Starts – Sept. 6

WHEN: September 6, 2014 and December 27, 2014 (tentatively may end on December 20, 2014)
TIME: 9 am to 10:30 am

WHERE: This is the Center, 4321 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20016 (behind the Z Burger) it is on second floor.  NOTE – please arrive 15 minutes before class otherwise the door will be locked and text or e mail me if you are unable to open the door.

FEE: $20.00 per class
PARKING: Park on Yuma Street or Windom Place one block behind the Center (you will see no metered except check the signs for hours)
METRO: Tentleytown-AU Metro and walk two blocks south on Wisconsin Avenue

The class is designed and tailored to fit at beginner’s level and it will be slow pace movement.  Practicing slow breathing, learn about the posture alignment, and the basic foundation of the pose will prepare you to be alert, optimistic and relax at the end of the class. The yoga props will be provided at the Center.  Disclaimer: Please discuss with your physician if you have any concerns about your health prior to participating this yoga class.

Barbara Eger-Klatt is Deaf and certified as 200 E-RYT Hatha Yoga Teacher.  She communicates in ASL that resonates with the Deaf community in Washington, DC metro area. Please contact Barbara, if you have any questions or concerns.

 

 

Martha’s Vineyard Potluck Deaf Yoga Retreat – September 12, 13 And 14

Relax and refresh is what you need for a weekend yoga retreat! In the heart of Martha’s Vineyard, you will learn yoga poses with proper alignment, basic foundation of the poses and learn the breathing technique. The retreat is tailored to meet the needs of deaf yogis with an experienced Hatha Yoga Teacher who is Deaf and fluent in ASL.

Please acknowledge that the meals will be vegetarian only. It is recommended that you purchase the groceries on the mainland. The retreat is limited to 8 people and you will be rooming with someone. Couples are welcome.
