Dr. Joan Ehrlich Joins NVRC as New Loudoun County Outreach Specialist

Dr. Joan Ehrlich joined the NVRC staff part-time in June, 2021. Dr. Ehrlich has been involved with NVRC in a variety of volunteer activities over the years, including serving as a member of the board in the 1990’s. Prior to joining the NVRC team, Dr. Ehrlich worked at Northern Virginia Community College, first as the Coordinator of Interpreter Services and then as Director of Disability Support Services.

Dr. Ehrlich’s expertise is in helping deaf and hard of hearing consumers understand and advocate for their rights under the ADA. She has trained and advised educators, businesses, employers and community service providers on how to provide access and accommodations to deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Dr. Ehrlich is proficient in spoken English and ASL and has some mastery of Cued Language.

Free Hearing Screenings

Joan Ehrlich, Outreach Specialist for the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC) will conduct hearing screenings at the Loudoun Valley Community Center. 

The purpose of the screening is to see if you could benefit from an evaluation by an audiologist. NVRC is a non-profit, there are no sales involved.  

(Please note that the screenings are for individuals who do not yet have hearing aids.  If you do have hearing aids and need to have them cleaned or repaired, please contact your audiologist.  NVRC does not provide this service.)
