NVRC is pleased to announce the creation of our new Communication Access Fund. The fund provides organizations and low income individuals with CART services and Sign Language Interpreters on a sliding scale. Backed by donations, this fund provides support to ensure the Deaf and hard of hearing Community of Northern Virginia have interpreters or CART when needed.
Interpreter Services The NVRC Interpreting and Transliterating program has been providing affordable communication support to the Deaf community since 2010. On occasion, even these low-cost services are not affordable to an organization or individual. The Communication Access Fund will, on a case by case basis, pay for a portion of the cost of providing sign language interpreters.
CART NVRC tirelessly advocates for communication access for all hard of hearing individuals. Many organizations are interested in trying CART services but cannot commit to the cost. The Communication Access Fund provides an organization the opportunity to experience CART for a one-time presentation or meeting.
