What is Cued Speech?

Cued Speech is a visual system of communication which allows a deaf person visual access to the phonemes or building blocks of a language.

  • 8 handshapes in 4 different placements on the face
  • Combined with mouth movement

Intermediate Cued Speech Class – Thursdays

6 classes: $120

Minimum – 5 students Maximum – 15 students

6 pm – 8 pm

September 29 – October 6, 13, 20, 27 – November 10

INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Suhad Keblawi is a lead cued language transliterator in the Fairfax County Public School system in Virginia and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Multicultural Communication from George Mason University in VA.
Suhad is a nationally certified instructor of Cued Speech and a board member of the National Cued Speech Association (NCSA) as Director of Outreach. Suhad is nationally certified as a cued language transliterator and affiliated with Language Matters Inc. (LMI) Suhad is a grant coordinator for VDOE and provides training for all cued language transliterators in the state of Virginia.
