I Can’t Hear You! Live and Laugh with Hearing Loss PresentationNVRC Outreach Specialist, Marla Dougherty, will be presenting a 3-part series based on NVRC’s publication: I Can’t Hear You! Live and Laugh with Hearing Loss.
Session 1 covers the ear and how we hear, how we lose our hearing, tinnitus, visiting the audiologist, understanding the audiogram, and hearing aids. Session 2 presents of a variety of assistive listening devices with demonstrations. Session 3 focuses on the psychological impact of hearing loss, and the benefits of good communication strategies and support groups. There is no registration necessary for Arlington Central Library. Hearing Loss Group at Lee Senior Center, Arlington - 10:00-11:30, 2nd Wednesday of each month Marla Dougherty is a late-deafened adult who started to lose her hearing in her early twenties. Her personal experience with the effects of hearing loss on daily communication and the advantages of hearing aid use, provides a foundation for offering support and encouragement to others.
