During this seminar, Alison Levy, Disability Employment Program Manager with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will conduct an interactive presentation where she will discuss:
- The USDA and the types of positions needed
- Tips for writing a federal resume
- Tips on how to apply for jobs using a schedule A status
About our speaker: Alison S. Levy joined USDA in January 2011 as the Department’s Disability Employment Program Manager. In this role she leads USDA’s efforts to increase recruitment, hiring, reasonable accommodation, advancement, and retention of individuals with disabilities.
Previously, Ms. Levy worked for ten years in a similar role as the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Selective Placement Program Manager. There, she spear headed efforts to streamline the Schedule a hiring process and established partnerships with national job placement professionals who refer qualified individuals with disabilities for Federal employment.
Ms. Levy is also one of the founding leaders of the Federal Disability Workforce Consortium (FDWC), a volunteer, interagency organization that includes over 900 Federal points of contact who work toward increasing Federal employment of individuals with disabilities.
With over 24 years of experience in the disability profession, Ms. Levy has worked toward improving workplace attitudes and in providing equal opportunity and equal access for persons with disabilities in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Levy earned her B.A. in Public Communication from The American University, and her Masters in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University.
