The Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services is seeking interested applicants for Summer 2015 Therapeutic Recreation Services programs. If you’re interested in applying, don’t miss out on one of the upcoming open hire sessions:

  • Wednesday, April 15 (4:30 to 7:30 p.m.): Irving Middle School, 8100 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA 22152
  • Wednesday, May 20 (noon to 5 p.m.)Pennino Building, 12011 Government Center Parkway, 10th floor, Fairfax, VA 22035
  • Wednesday, June 3 (noon to 5 p.m.)Pennino Building, 12011 Government Center Parkway, 10th floor, Fairfax, VA 22035
  • Requirements 
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • At least 250 hours of experience in a recreation or school setting serving individuals with disabilities (college course work can supplement experience)
  • Have or acquire CPR and First Aid Certification for children and adults that is valid through August 2015
  • TB test results: New applicants must have proof of a negative result within the last year, returning staff need proof of a negative result within the past two years
