Farewell to Mary Elizabeth Tyner Allen
Mary Elizabeth Tyner Allen died peacefully at her home in Vienna, Virginia after a long illness on December 28, 2013. She was 95 years old. She was a member of the Deaf Congregation at First Baptist Church of Alexandria. Her husband, F.M. Allen, preceded her in death in 1993. They lived in Aberdeen for the fifty years of their marriage. She leaves her daughter, Peggy Schmidt (Greg), two grandsons, Allen Terrell (Stephanie) and Karl Schmidt. She also had two great-granddaughters, Allison and Charleigh Terrell. All who knew her will remember her beautiful smile and her loving nature.
Graveside services will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery in Aberdeen at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2014. Arrangements are being handled by Tisdale Lann Memorial. The family requests that donations be given in her memory to the Communication Access Fund of the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons, 3951 Pender Drive, Suite 130, Fairfax, VA 22030.
