UPDATE! Series Begins TOMORROW on Deaf Prisoners and HEARD

UPDATE: NVRC has just learned that the airing of the “Deaf in Prison” series on Al Jazeera has been moved from tonight to Thursday Dec. 19 (tomorrow) at 9 pm, and will be shown again on Friday, Dec. 20 at 9 pm.

Tomorrow: Three Part Series on Deaf Prisoners and HEARD Begins

Breaking News from HEARD 12/18/2013

We are delighted to announce the release of the long-awaited series on deaf prisoners & HEARD. The three-part series will air tonight & tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on America Tonight, Al Jazeera America’s nightly news show.

Renowned journalist, James Ridgeway, will respond to questions after Part One tonight & HEARD’s President, Talila “TL” Lewis, will respond to questions after Part Two tomorrow evening. HEARD has invested countless hours to this project over the past three years and we are excited for its release!

This series features interviews from deaf prisoners from HEARD’s Deaf & Deaf-Blind Prisoner Database.  Please tune in tonight and tomorrow to help amplify the Deaf Access to Justice Movement!
