April 24, 2012 in Advocacy & Access
A video funded by Association of Performing Arts Presenters and MetLife is now available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pq5mrBabbE.

The video features information from Tabitha Alllum, Chief Executive of StageText, Lisa Carling, Director of Theater Development Fund Accessibility Programs in New York City and David Chu, Theater Captioner for c2.

They explains why captioning of the performing arts is so important and empowering, the challenges in giving high quality captioning for live performances, what is captioned to give a full experience such as the ideal staging, how the captioning is done in theaters, and how the captioning is received by people who need it.

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and other performing arts organizations were also involved.
