Victor Matsui, who served as the dynamic head of the Williamsburg chapter and Virginia state director of Hearing Loss Association of America (formerly Self Help for Hard of Hearing People), as well as President of Hearing Loss Association of America, died on March 26, 2012 while visiting with his son in Hong Kong.

Mr. Matsui will be cremated in Hong Kong. His daughter Linda and others are planning a memorial for him in Williamsburg, most likely in May.

Victor was 88 years old.

In recognition of Victor’s steadfast support of HLAA and JAVA, the family asks that donations in his memory be made to either organization in lieu of flowers.

NVRC worked with Victor on a number of projects to raise awareness of hearing loss and he was always a delight to correspond with or chat with in person.

Victor’s family has created a memorial website at http://www.forevermissed.com/victor-matsui/#about where you can leave memorial tributes, view a gallery of photos, and share a story.
