Cuts to NVRC Budget
| THERE’S STILL TIME!
PREVENT CUTS TO NVRC’S FUNDS FROM LOUDOUN COUNTY
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has not yet voted on its budget for the fiscal year that starts on July 1, 2012. In mid-February NVRC learned that the proposed budget would cut our funds from the $20,000 we are receiving this year to $10,000 next year. If you are a Loudoun County resident, there is still time to contact your Supervisor in Loudoun County to explain why funding for NVRC’s services is important. If you are not a resident but have a family member or friend who lives in Loudoun County, share information with them and ask that they get in touch with their Supervisor.
The Supervisors need to know that the services we provide are not available elsewhere in the county. They also need to know the full meaning of our outreach and education programs. Last year we served 604 individuals, but the full impact isn’t found just in that number. Every time we help one of those individuals to be better able to cope and communicate, it also helps their family members, friends, co-workers, and everyone with whom they come into contact.
You can find your Supervisor’s phone, fax, and email information in the box beneath the photo on their individual county web page. Click here for the list of Supervisors to find their individual page or use this URL in your browser: http://www.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=990.
