MEETING: Saturday, January 21, 2012 TIME: 10:30 a.m.-12 Noon LOCATION: Hearing Loss Association of America 7910 Woodmont Avenue – Suite 1200 Bethesda, MD 20814 TOPIC: Implantable Technology: When Traditional Hearing Aids Just Aren’t Enough MODERATOR: Lise Hamlin GUEST SPEAKER: Kathy Wall, Au.D. Dr. Kathy Wall will provide an overview of implantable technology. Included will be a description of the different surgical procedures for cochlear implants, Baha (bone anchored devices) and Esteem, a new surgical implant intended for sensorineural hearing loss. We will also discuss the criteria required to qualify for each of them. Dr. Wall is a Montgomery County resident, working as a clinical audiologist around the DC area since 1977. She has served as the professional advisor for the HLA-Montgomery County Chapter since 2004. You are welcome to join us for our Steering Committee Meeting held right after the chapter meeting. Parking is free in all Montgomery County open parking lots, and the Cheltenham and St. Elmo garages on weekends. Enter the building on 7910 Woodmont Avenue. Someone will be at the front door to let you in. Please be prompt so that you can get in.
