Training: Title II & Title III Revised Regulations

Sally Conway, Deputy Chief, ADA Technical Assistance at the U.S. Department of Justice, and Jim Bostrom, M.Arch, Deputy Chief, Disability Rights Section, Civil Rights Division at the U. S. Department of Justice will present the latest on the newly revised regulations for Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This course will focus on the newly released regulations that are applicable to state and local governments and places of public accommodation, including the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design.

  • The morning session will address the major changes contained within the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design which govern the construction and alteration of facilities covered by the ADA.

  • The afternoon session will address the programmatic changes to Title II and Title III of the ADA, including the new definition of service animal, required revisions in ticketing policies, the updated definition of wheelchair and powered mobility devices and the implications for using new technologies to ensure effective communication to name just a few.
